November is Mizrahi Heritage Month, a time dedicated to elevating the culture, heritage, and traditions of Jews from the Middle East and North Africa. Join us for an enlightening program about Jews from Yemen.
During the 20th century most of the age-old Yemeni Jewish community immigrated to Israel. This talk will use foods to examine how Yemeni Jews struggled to resist assimilation, while also working to integrate into Israeli society.
Presenter: Ari Ariel, Ph.D., Director of International Studies at the University of Iowa and an Associate Professor of Instruction in International Studies and History.
