Rekindle Shabbat 2026 - 2027

We make it easy to celebrate Shabbat!

How does it work?

You sign up for the year! If you are new to the program and haven't every participate before, you will receive a beautiful Shabbat kit delivered to your doorstep with everything you need to create a meaningful Shabbat experience — candles, kiddush cup, challah cover, and tzedakah box.

Then, a few times a year, you will have the opportunity to celebrate Shabbat with friends* with a fully catered dinner from Levine's Deli in Peabody. Invite another Jewish or interfaith family (or a few families) to join you, pause from the week, and enjoy the sanctity and beauty of Shabbat together.

All you need to bring is your home, family, and friends!

The goal of Rekindle Shabbat is simple: to make celebrating Shabbat accessible and joyful.

  • December 11, 2026 (Hanukkah)
  • February 5, 2027 (Tu B'shvat)
  • March 19, 2027 (Purim)
  • May 14, 2027 (Yom Ha'Atzmaut)

You don't need to participate in every meal to participate in the program. You will sign up for the meals two weeks before each scheduled meal by completing a food order form.

*New families to the program are welcome to participate on their own for the first year. Returning families are required to participate with at least one other family from Lappin's service area with children under the age of 18.

Food will need to be picked up at Levine’s Kosher Deli in Peabody the day prior to or the day of Rekindle Shabbat.

Don’t know who to invite? Let us know, and we will try to match you with another family. Looking to get to know other Jewish families in your area? Let us know you are willing to host another family! Families who are new to Rekindle Shabbat may do the meals without a partner family. Returning families must partner with another family, and we are happy to match you if you prefer. When choosing your partner family, please note that both families must register.

This program is free and open to Jewish and interfaith families with children (teens and younger), who live in or are affiliated with a Jewish organization in Lappin Foundation's Merrimack Valley or North Shore service area.
